Original Wu Association Receives New Members

SHANGHAI, China - Three new members were received recently by the Chian Chuan Tai Chi Chuan Association, the original Wu style association founded by Wu Chian Chuan in Shanghai in 1932.

Two new members: Richard Clear (Florida) and Jim Burchfield (Michigan) are Students of Wen Mei Yu, while Jody Mansfield (Michigan) is a student of Burchfield. Mansfield and Clear demonstrated the Wu style short form with senior member Wen Mei Yu, while Burchfield demonstrated single and double push hands, as well as moving steps methods of the traditional Wu school with member Gerald A. Sharp. Present for the induction were: grandmasters Wu Ying Hua (association president) and Ma Yueh Liang (association vice president).

Senior third-, fourth-, and fifth-generation stylists of the association newsletters usually publish accounts of Wu style's developments contemporarily and historically, as well as useful information on tai chi practice.
